Lon has lived in Oakland's Lake Merritt neighborhood for more than twenty five years. His successful international career included investigating and settling complex maritime and transportation claims involving many millions of dollars. The qualities that he developed were perfect for his real estate career - astute analytical skills, an ability to read people and situations that were not readily apparent to others and an eye for detail. In addition, as a third party administrator, Lon was entrusted with large amounts of other people's assets, again similarly to his real estate practice. Lon acquired his real estate license and working in the Prudential California Realty Piedmont Office before moving to McGuire Real Estate and then to Golden Gate Sotheby's International Realty. He truly understands what is required to prepare a home for sale including updating, staging and how to strategically price a property. Lon is the Master of Ceremonies for The Clarewood Singers and performs frequently throughout the Bay Area. He is also a charter member of Festival Opera in Walnut Creek. He frequently volunteers for community activities, particularly those involving seniors. He is Red Cross Certified in CPR and First Aid. I am a certified Relocation Specialist facilitating home sales and purchases for clients moving locally or abroad. Having personally moved eighteen times makes me particularly sensitive to clients' transitional needs, whether they are moving from neighborhood to neighborhood or country to country.

I serve the residential needs of buyers and sellers in Berkeley, Oakland, Piedmont, Alameda and surrounding neighborhoods as well as San Francisco, Marin and Contra Costa Counties. In addition to guiding clients through their escrows, I provide assistance with moving, staging and offer a personally tested network of home improvement specialists.

I have been a Bay Area resident for over thirty years. While I was growing up, my family lived in California, Senegal, Italy, Switzerland, and Morocco. I studied linguistics at UCLA and earned a degree in French Literature from UC Berkeley. Prior to becoming a realtor, I had a long career in management, marketing, merchandising and sales at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Ann Taylor as well as at my own textile design company, Nothing But Red.

During my free time I enjoy working in my fruit and flower garden, seasonal gourmet cooking, reading novels and biographies, taking in movies and walking my two miniature dachshunds, Bella and Bosco, by the Bay or by the beach.
